Martin Brown, Improvement Consultant for Test Services.
With a career spanning nearly three decades in developing, building, and testing prototype vehicle systems, Martin Brown has been extensively involved in creating and developing HORIBA MIRA’s operational and safety procedures around hybrid and electric vehicle safety, and additionally other alternative new energy vector projects, such as hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen combustion and liquid nitrogen. He is a former EuroNCAP test engineer and Formula 1 safety homologation engineer.
As a member of the electric vehicle training syllabus committee for The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), he has helped with the development of the technical teaching material that they create for the entire motor industry.
Martin is also a technical consultant for hybrid and electric vehicle safety to many other organisations such as the UK Government, the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) and the BTC Automotive Testing Advisory Group and has delivered training and safety consultancy internationally to vehicle manufacturers, motorsport teams, research and development agencies and technology start-up companies.
