Dr Helen Monkhouse, Chief Engineer – Functional Safety
With almost three decades industrial experience, Helen boasts an unrivalled wealth of experience in the fields of functional safety, systems engineering, and human machine interaction – specifically automated driving shared control.
Prior to joining HORIBA MIRA in 2016, Helen occupied key roles at Jaguar Land Rover and Protean Electric. In 2023 Helen graduated from the University of York with a PhD in Computer Science entitled “Conceptualising automated driving shared control hazard causes.”
Helen has published automotive functional safety related papers and promotes industry best practice through her work with MISRA and ISO. Helen is a MISRA Safety Case Guidelines author and UK Expert to the AUE/32/1 Safety and Security of Electrical and Electronic Components in Road Vehicles committee.
